Why Do I Need to Share Personal Information with Q.ai?








When you apply for a Q.ai account, we need to collect some personal information. For some users, this can feel uncomfortable. But rest assured that this is standard procedure.

Here’s what you should know about sharing your personal information.

Personal information that Q.ai collects

When you sign up for Q.ai, you’ll need to share your email and create a password for your account. Once you’re in, to set up your account, we’ll need to collect some personal information like your name, date of birth and address.

Q.ai also requires personal information like your financial and tax identification information.

We need this information in order to comply with U.S. government laws and FINRA rules. We also need these details because the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) requires them to help fight fraud. We request this information from all of our new and active users who have an account with us.

Where Q.ai shares personal information

There are few circumstances that may require us to disclose your information with service providers. This includes our brokerage partner, Apex Clearing, or our financial services partner, Plaid, which we pull in during bank transfers.

Our service providers are strictly prohibited from using or disclosing your personal information for any other purposes other than what’s asked of them from us.

We may also share information about you with third parties for any purposes consistent with our Privacy Policy or as permitted by applicable law. These situations might include the following:

  • To comply with the law or other legal processes, and where required, in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements
  • To protect the rights, property, life, health, security and safety of us, the service or any third party
  • In connection with, or during negotiations of, any proposed or actual merger, purchase, sale or any other type of acquisition or business combination of all or any portion of our assets, or transfer of all or a portion of our business to another company
  • With our affiliates for internal business purposes
  • For purposes disclosed at the time you provide personal information
  • With your consent or at your direction

How Q.ai protects personal information

Q.ai complies with an SEC customer identification rule of the USA Patriot Act of 2001, which requires us to put procedures in place to verify your identity. It also requires us to maintain records of this information.

While no data transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, rest assured that we take your security very seriously. Our information security policies and procedures are closely aligned with widely accepted international standards and are reviewed regularly and updated as necessary to meet our business needs, changes in technology and regulatory requirements. Where appropriate, we password protect, use encryption techniques and install firewalls.

Similarly, we encourage our participating service providers to adopt and honor their own consumer privacy policies.
